This is exactly the kind of thriller I love.

The story wastes very little time pulling you into the mystery. It begins with the suspicious death of a famous thriller author, followed by mysterious diary pages addressed to her daughter and signed, “Love, Mom.” From there, every new revelation raises more questions than answers, making it incredibly difficult to stop reading.

What impressed me most was how the twists constantly reshaped what I thought I knew. Every time I felt confident I understood what was happening, another piece of the puzzle completely changed my perspective. The mystery never felt overly complicated, but it was clever enough to keep me guessing until the truth finally came out.

One thing I’ve realized about my reading taste is that I enjoy stories where justice matters. Love, Mom isn’t just about uncovering secrets—it’s about exposing betrayal, deception, and the devastating consequences of greed. I found myself emotionally invested because I wanted the truth to come to light and for the people responsible to finally face the consequences of their actions.

The pacing also deserves a mention. It’s fast, engaging, and incredibly easy to binge. There was never a point where I felt tempted to put it down because every chapter introduced another question I needed answered.

Love, Mom Review: Why It Didn’t Fully Click

Honestly, I don’t have many complaints about this one.

If I had to mention one small thing, it’s that some of the twists require a bit of suspension of disbelief. The premise is undeniably dramatic, and readers looking for a highly realistic thriller may find certain reveals a little over the top.

For me, though, that didn’t matter.

The story fully committed to its premise, and because the pacing remained strong and the mystery kept delivering, I was happy to go along for the ride.

It’s twisty without becoming confusing, fast-paced without feeling rushed, and full of revelations that genuinely kept me guessing. More importantly, the emotional stakes made the mystery feel meaningful rather than existing solely for shock value.

This easily became one of my favorite thrillers of the year.
